Property Accountant

Part-Time Property Accountant / Financial Analyst (Onsite)
Location: Palm Beach, FL
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week, onsite
Flexible Schedule: Option to work 2.5 full days or 4 partial/full days per week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Property Accountant / Financial Analyst to support the Board and management team of a cooperative residential property in Palm Beach, Florida. This is a part-time, onsite position responsible for reviewing and analyzing financial information prepared by the management company and bookkeeper, ensuring accuracy of financial reporting, and providing meaningful financial insights to support Board decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong financial reporting and budget analysis experience who can independently assess financial performance, identify variances, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Review monthly financial statements prepared by the management agent and bookkeeper for accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze financial performance against budget and prior-year results.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and presentations for the Board of Directors.
• Monitor operating results and identify significant variances, trends, and areas of concern.
• Assist in evaluating the overall financial health of the cooperative.
• Verify that accounting records, financial reports, and supporting schedules are accurate and reasonable.
• Work closely with the management company, bookkeeper, and Board members to address financial questions and reporting needs.
• Support budget planning and forecasting activities as needed.
• Provide recommendations to improve financial reporting and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting, financial analysis, or property accounting experience.
• Strong experience with financial statement analysis, budgeting, and variance reporting.
• Prior experience working in a small accounting practice, CPA firm, family office, or private accounting environment is highly desirable.
• Experience with condominium, cooperative (co-op), HOA, or property management accounting strongly preferred.
• Ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings to non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Experience

• Residential condominium, cooperative, or property management accounting.
• Board reporting and stakeholder communication.
• Budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Working with third-party management companies and external bookkeepers.

Compensation

Competitive compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Pay is flexible DOE.
