Chicago I Legal Billing Manager AR/AP Manager I Salary $100K-$120K++-Negotiable+ I E-Billing & GAAP I Excellent Growth & Benefits I Amazing Firm I NEED ASAP!

Chicago Law Firm is looking for a Legal Billing Manager who will play a pivotal role in preparing and processing client bills, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client agreements.

Must know e-billing, GAAP, Juris or legal software, and every aspect of the legal billing process and handle the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable for a law firm with 25 attorneys.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage firm billing process; ensure all timekeepers have time entered, enter all expenses into the billing system, process pre-bills, proofread/edit pre-bills, and print and scan finalized invoices.
  • Sends out invoices – via electronic billing, carrier, or email
  • Responsible for sending out requests for time submittals and follow-through with attorneys and legal assistants; may enter time for some attorneys as needed.
  • Enter all payment vouchers.
  • Maintain back-up invoices for clients.
  • Processes client checks and keep attorneys updated
  • Reconcile incoming wires
  • Handle client invoice questions and assist in collections as needed
  • AP-handle checks and occasional petty cash as needed
  • Responsible for budget reporting and monitoring budget costs.

Must Haves:

  • 7+ years in legal billing for a law firm and must know every aspect of the billing process
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • E-billing, AR, AP, and GAAP
  • MS Office, Excel, and tech-savvy to learn systems
  • Legal Billing Software: (Juris a plus)
